Destin Family Fun
Over Spring Break we spent a working week in Destin, my hometown, with my parents. Our last day there, my sister and her family also joined us. We don’t get to see them often enough, and now that they have a little one, I’m always begging to take photos for them. I realize how quickly these kiddos change, and I want to ensure that my family members always have a well documented childhood for my niece and nephew!
So Friday evening, we headed out to the beach to get some sunset photos of my sister’s family, my parents, and of course, Brighten and Grady. It was magical and so much fun! Being from a beach community is something that I’m really proud of, and it’s the place that formed my love of photography at an early age. The white sand and emerald green waters are just begging to be photographed.
My style of photography have changed a lot over the years, so it’s been fun to re-discover beach photos after years living among the greenery and rolling hills of Alabama. Everything is different, and I was truly on my toes throughout our session to make sure I was capturing the light correctly. I love how these turned out, and I loved the cooler tones that I got to play around with while editing!
If you’re going to be in Destin or the 30A area around the 4th of July, I would love to schedule a beach session for your family! We’ll be there as well and who doesn’t those magical beaches in the backdrop of your family portraits?! I’m always happy to make the trip down if you’re looking for beach photos another time — just let me know! It doesn’t take much twisting of my arm to get me to make the 4 hour trek to my hometown to visit my parents and spend some time with my toes in the sand!
